Why We Are Raising Money for The Victory Center

After witnessing my mother and one of my closest friends navigate cancer, I’ve learned that patients need more than just medical care—they need whole-person support: spirit, soul, and body. Cancer impacts not only the patient but also their family and friends, and it’s often the little things that make the biggest difference.

I’ll never forget being with my friend in Reno, Nevada, as she faced stage 3C breast cancer. Small gestures and moments of care played a huge role in her healing. Similarly, after my mom recovered from colon cancer, she began creating care packages for other patients because she understood how meaningful those “little things” could be.

That’s why I’m passionate about the services provided by The Victory Center—like art therapy, massages, and other unique offerings. These services may seem small, but they provide comfort, connection, and healing during an incredibly challenging time.

Now, Tim and I rappelling off 16 stories isn’t going to help anyone directly—that’s just a fun way for us to raise support for the true heroes: the patients and their families.
