I will be rappelling 16 stories down the Toledo Edison Building to raise funds and awareness for The Victory Center!
In the past years I have done a lot of charity work through cooking, donating and giving to different charities and organizations through my restaurants. I have always enjoyed giving back! I remember years ago I was asked to donate to the Victory center and I always did without hesitation. I never really even new what they did to be completely honest. On April 3rd 2015 my Mother was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer and began fighting for her life. All the chemotherapy and radiation made her weak and sick. This was a woman who touched so many lives, she was kind, giving and most of all selfless. My sister set her up an appointment at the victory center for a welcome interview. She was welcomed with kindness and open arms! The volunteers gave her a tour of the facility. They offered all types of complimentary services. She was set up for a facial, a massage, and a relaxation session within a 3 week period . They gave Mom the ability to feel normal again even if it was only for that short period of time. For this my sisters and I will always be truly grateful! So now I know what it is that the Victory Center does... as it hit so close to home for me and my family. Mom lost her battle on September 18th 2015. So for all those that we love that have lost their battle and for all those still battling everyday for a cure we love you!! I will always continue to do my best everyday to help the cause!! This cause has become very dear to my heart and that is why I choose to raise money and awareness.
