I will be rappelling 16 stories on Thursday, September 3, 2026 to raise funds and awareness for The Victory Center! I am very scared of heights, but this will be my second-year rappelling for such a great cause. The Victory Center was there for me during my time of need and I want to continue to support the Victory Center in any way that I can. Please consider making a donation to help fund FREE programs and services for newly diagnosed cancer patients, cancer survivors and their caregivers. 100% of funds raised will stay in our community.

In the Fall of 2021, I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. I had gone 3 years without my routine mammogram. There was no family history of breast cancer in my family, so I just assumed it could never happen to me. That was the first thing I learned after I was diagnosed: that family history is only a small number of people that end up with breast cancer. You can also have the genes that put you at a higher risk or even no risk factors at all. I fell into that last category of they just don’t know what caused it. I have learned the most important thing is to always get your preventative testing done on time! The earlier that cancer is found, the easier it is to treat and hopefully prevent from reoccurring. I am coming up on my 5-year mark for being cancer free!

During my treatment, the Victory Center was a place I could go to relax, enjoy their services, and meet many other people that knew exactly what I was going through. I have benefited from massages, reflexology, facials, support groups, and many different classes such as art, cookie decorating, puppy yoga and even belly dancing at one point. All at no cost to me or my insurance company. I still attend classes from time to time and will always be welcomed there at any time. Please help me to help them continue these fantastic opportunities for cancer patients. Every little bit adds up and no cancer patient should ever fight alone!
