Julie Mitchell

Almost 4 years ago, I was diagnosed with breast cancer after my yearly mammogram. I had put it off for way too long during Covid. Fortunately for me, it was caught just before becoming invasive, so it was quickly taken care of with surgery, radiation and hormone blockers. Shortly afterwards, I was diagnosed with acute diabetes which we believe might have been set off from the surgery and the stress I was going through. Today I am doing great and have everything well under control. I also take my screenings seriously and make sure they are ALWAYS done on time. While things are great today, during my battle it was the Victory Center that helped me keep my sanity and teach me that I needed to take care of myself every day. They provide wonderful treatments such as Reflexology, massages, facials, and support groups that I participated in on a regular basis. They also offer a lot of other services such as belly dancing (which I participate in), art classes, yoga, and tons of other offerings every month. I mentally would not be where I am today without their assistance! They provide all of this at absolutely no cost to their clients and they get no help from insurance companies. Everything they provide for cancer patients is privately funded.
On Friday, September 5, 2025 I will be rappelling 16 stories to help raise funds and awareness for The Victory Center! I am asking you for your support in helping me to raise as much money as possible to help this wonderful organization that I owe so much gratitude to. Please consider making a donation to help fund FREE programs and services for newly diagnosed cancer patients, cancer survivors and their caregivers. 100% of funds raised will stay within our community.
I truly appreciate any and all donations you are able to help me raise.
