Back in 1997 my family was hit with the news that my wife Sandy had cancer. With 3 children at home  and the youngest being only 6 months it was devastating. Well, we got through that first episode only to go through 2 more bouts of cancer over the years. My wife is a private person and never wanted to draw attention to herself. She told very few people. The first two bouts she was able to hide from the kids but with the affects of chemo the third time around she could no longer hide it. She comforted the kids and worked through all the rounds of chemo. She never complained. Pretty special person if you ask me!  Wanting to give back, she started volunteering at The Victory Center and she eventually became a team member when they expanded into Perrysburg. Sandy rappelled at the inaugural event in 2017, but I was too afraid to rappel with her. Well, after 4 years of her working on me, here I go. I am petrified of heights!!

I will be rappelling 16 stories on Friday, August 27 to raise funds and awareness for The Victory Center! Please consider making a donation to help fund FREE support programs and services for newly diagnosed cancer patients, cancer survivors and their caregivers. All funds raised will stay in our community.
