In January of 2024, I was diagnosed with stage one breast cancer. There is no history of breast cancer in my family, so this was a shock. I was 38, and the mom of three young kids. In the months that followed, I underwent surgery, chemotherapy and radiation.

At every moment and stage, I felt my community surrounding me with love and strength. My husband, my family, my friends, our church, our neighbors…they made every moment so much easier.

To celebrate one year cancer-free, I will be rappelling 16 stories on Friday, September 5 or Saturday, September 6, 2025 to raise funds and awareness for The Victory Center. TVC helps provide community and support for those dealing with cancer. I’m also rappelling to show my daughters that in our family, we can do hard things. Finally, my OTE journey is in honor of my Aunt Susan and my father-in-law John, and in memory of my grandfather Don Lab and aunt Betty Jo Kitz, who have all battled cancer.

Please consider making a donation to help fund FREE programs and services for newly diagnosed cancer patients, cancer survivors and their caregivers.

100% of funds raised will stay in our community.
