Amy Chu has been a dedicated part of the Maumee child care community for nearly 30 years, creating a loving, supportive, and fun environment where children thrive and families feel truly cared for. Through her in-home daycare, Amy has built lifelong relationships with generations of families and is known for her compassion, energy, and big heart.
Her passion for caring for others extends far beyond child care. Amy is a proud supporter of The Victory Center and the incredible work they do for cancer patients, survivors, and their families. Over the years, she has participated in Over the Edge fundraising events to help support the comfort, encouragement, and sense of community The Victory Center provides to so many during some of life’s hardest moments.
Cancer has touched Amy’s life personally in many ways. She and her husband, Ken, have both lost their fathers, along with too many dear friends and family members, to this disease. Each year, special team t-shirts are created to honor the people they love and remember. This year’s gray shirt is dedicated to the memory of a close friend who recently passed away from brain cancer — a meaningful tribute and reminder of why this cause remains so close to her heart.
Amy first rappelled down to her groom, Ken Kania at Over the Edge for Victory in 2020 and has been participating ever since. One year, she climbed in honor of one of her former daycare children who is a cancer survivor. Last year, in celebration of Amy and Ken’s fifth wedding anniversary, the two rappelled together. This year, Amy is taking the leap solo — continuing her tradition of supporting The Victory Center while honoring the courage, strength, and resilience of the many people who have inspired her along the way.

She will be rappelling 16 stories on Thursday, September 3, 2026 or Friday, September 4, 2026 to raise funds and awareness for The Victory Center!
